Not sure what support fits best?
We will help you choose the right option based on need, risk, and the outcomes you need to evidence.
Referral and placement process
A clear 5-step process from enquiry to review. We keep it simple, realistic and well-documented.
Enquiry and initial conversation
We start with a short conversation to understand the learners context, risks, and what outcomes you need to see. This can be led by a school, local authority, or parent.
Information gathering
We ask for key information (attendance, behaviour patterns, academic levels, safeguarding context, and any SEND documentation). This helps us plan safely and appropriately.
Placement planning
We agree the placement plan: timetable, group size, focus areas (SEND/SEMH/EBSA), and what progress will be tracked. Timescales vary, but many placements can begin within 13 weeks once information is in place and a start date is agreed.
Delivery + reporting
Support begins with clear routines and consistent staffing. We track attendance, engagement, behaviour and learning progress, and provide regular updates (typically weekly) to the referring school and, where appropriate, to families.
Review and next steps
We hold review points to agree next steps: continue, adjust the plan, step down support, or plan reintegration. Reviews are scheduled based on need and placement length.
What we need from schools / local authorities
- Attendance and punctuality overview
- Behaviour and incident summary (patterns, triggers, strategies tried)
- Academic overview (current working levels, key gaps)
- SEND information (EHCP, SEN Support plans, assessments)
- Safeguarding context and key contacts (DSL / social care where relevant)
- Preferred outcomes (attendance, behaviour, engagement, reintegration)
Timescales (realistic ranges)
Timescales depend on the information available, safeguarding checks, and the timetable agreed. In many cases, placements can begin within 13 weeksonce information is in place. For more complex cases, planning may take longer.
We will respond as quickly as possible and be clear about what is realistic.
Safeguarding, Quality and Accountability
Schools and families need to trust the provision. This section is deliberately factual clear safeguarding practice, clear monitoring, and clear reporting.
Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
We have designated safeguarding leads and work closely with the referring school or local authority. Safeguarding is not a bolt-on it sits at the centre of placement planning and day-to-day practice.
Safer recruitment and Enhanced DBS
All staff are recruited through safer recruitment processes and hold Enhanced DBS clearance. Staff complete safeguarding and Prevent training, with refreshers as required.
Training and professional standards
Staff training includes safeguarding, Prevent, and ongoing development linked to SEND, SEMH, trauma-informed practice and de-escalation. We work within clear boundaries and expectations.
GDPR and information sharing
We handle information in line with GDPR. We share information appropriately with the right people, at the right time, and record decisions clearly.
Quality assurance and accountability
We monitor delivery standards and placement quality. Progress is tracked and reported so schools and families can see what is changing and what still needs work.
How progress is monitored and reported
We monitor progress throughout the placement and provide regular updates. Reporting is designed to be useful in reviews and meetings.
- Attendance and punctuality patterns
- Behaviour incidents and triggers (frequency and severity)
- Engagement with learning and routines
- Academic progress in core areas (where relevant)
